Specialist in Lymph Drainage

Lymph Drainage is NOT a massage.  It is, quite literally, encouraging the lymph to flow in the directions it should, with a very light hands-on technique which is both healing and relaxing.  Often, the lymphatic system ceases to function at optimum level, particularly in women.  That's when lymph drainage can help get things moving again.

Always check that a practitioner is qualified

Lymph Drainage should only be performed by a fully qualified practitioner with specialist training.

Dr Emil Vodder

Vodder was the man who first developed lymph drainage as a therapy.  His 'method' is internationally recognised as being the most beneficial in treating lymphoedema, lipoedema and phleboedema.

Vodder Qualified

Having trained at the Vodder Akademie in Austria, where the original Vodder method was first taught, and where it is still successfully practiced, you can be assured of receiving the very best of hands-on care here at the Wise Woman Natural Therapies.  We do not use machines or medications of any sort, but practice the original 100% proven method of manual lymph drainage.

Types of Massage

Relaxation Massage

The goal of a Relaxation Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to your heart. Swedish Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.

*Please note that there are no Private Health Fund rebates available for Relaxation Massage.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage reaches deeper layers of muscles. It is used to break down knots and relieve pressure points (known as Trigger Points) throughout the body, helping to relieve pain and encourage a greater range of movement.

Depending on the type of cover you have, Private Health Fund rebates are available on Remedial Massage.

Reflexology is a pressure point massage on the feet or ears that helps the body heal itself.  Intense relaxation and emotional release are often experienced during a treatment.  Reflexology is well known for balancing the hormones and detoxifying the body and mind.

*As of 1/4/19, there are no longer rebates available for this modality.
